In-house development of secure network devices
2021-2022
In-house project to develop secure network devices built on microkernels. Microkernels generally have strong internal separation between components and are orders of magnitude smaller than traditional OS:es like Linux and Windows. This gives them an edge for applications benefitting from minimalism and strong internal separation.
Delfigon has developed a set of flexible and pluggable library components that allows for quick construction of different kinds secure network devices. A fully operational MQTT5 gateway is designed as proof-of-concept with each stack layer dedicated to a unique isloated component. Communication between the layers take place over well defined internal communication protocols minimizing the risk for misuse.
The flexible nature of the core library makes it easy to extend the product family with new devices like for instance secure OCSP responders or minimal Wireguard endpoints not dependent on Linux.
